The Robot's filter basket is deeper than conventional baskets to account for a manual dose of water. As such, the Robot needs its own tamper, one capable of reaching the recessed coffee evenly. The Robot Leveling Tamper, designed by Paul Pratt to fit the Robot baskets snugly, features a stainless steel base with a tapered edge to prevent the vacuum effect, a POM middle section to keep the base centered on its long descent, an aluminum cap, and a stainless steel stud to hold it all together. The result is a level tamp and tasty espresso.
